Genevieve Turner’s practice focuses on healthcare litigation, advocating on behalf of medical providers and related entities in commercial disputes with payors in numerous forums. Consequently, she intimately understands the federal and state laws that apply to healthcare reimbursement, including ERISA and surprise billing statutes. Prior to representing providers, she represented national payors in various facets of their operations, thus gaining a well-founded understanding of the industry. She also practices in other areas of commercial and complex litigation, including breach of contract and business disputes, as well as personal injury matters.
Ms. Turner began her career at a respected commercial litigation firm in Miami, where she gained significant experience handling contractual disputes and other corporate litigation matters, in addition to defending employment and product liability claims. Ms. Turner also has extensive experience litigating federal and state workers’ compensation cases. She is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and the Middle District of Florida.
Originally from northern Illinois, Ms. Turner relocated in 2004 to attend the University of Florida. She graduated with honors in 2007 and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society. After a few years working for financial institutions, she went on to attend the University of Florida Levin College of Law, from which she received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2012. While in law school, Ms. Turner served as a Senior Research Editor for the Florida Law Review and was an active member of the John Marshall Bar Association Governing Board.
