Michael B. Shapiro serves as the managing partner of the firm and heads the commercial real estate practice area, including, without limitation, the sale and purchase of shopping centers, office buildings, warehouses, hotels/motels and other commercial properties, commercial leasing, commercial lending/re-financing and asset purchase and sales. Mr. Shapiro also founded and co-operates the firms wholly owned title insurance company, Preferred Title, Inc. and is an approved title insurance agent for Attorneys Title Insurance Fund, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Westcor and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. Mr. Shapiro has served as settlement agent for virtually all of the major lending institutions.
Mr. Shapiro received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications and his Master of Education (M.Ed.) and Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) degrees from the University of Florida College of Education. After working for the U.S. Department of Labor, Mr. Shapiro returned to the University of Florida and received his J.D. degree from the College of Law. While in law school he was Senior Student Works Editor of the Law Review and also served as a Fellowship Instructor in the Legal Research and Writing Program. Mr. Shapiro was named “Legal Elite” in real estate by Florida Trend Magazine for 2013. He was profiled in the February, 2018 South Florida Business Journal and was selected by the Journal’s “Power Leaders 2019” which identified the 250 most influential business leaders in the Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade County area.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Shapiro was associated with Fine, Jacobson, Schwartz, Nash, Block & England, P.A. in Miami, Florida and Goldberg & Young, P.A. in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is a member of the Real Property section of the Florida Bar and the South Palm Beach County Bar Association. He is also an “AV” rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
