Daniel Genossar practices both Commercial and Construction Litigation and Arbitration. Handling companies and individual clients with business related matters, Mr. Genossar practices in State and Federal Courts and various arbitral tribunals to obtain results. Mr. Genossar brings an array of global and regional knowledge and experiences to SBWH, including trial skills and a legal acumen from a judicial clerkship that enables him to provide clients exceptional problem solving, advocacy, and representation.
Prior to joining SBWH, Mr. Genossar served as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s 12th Judicial Circuit as a line prosecutor, the baker act prosecutor for involuntary hospitalizations, and as an executive assignment assistant state attorney by gubernatorial authority. Additionally, Mr. Genossar was utilized by circuit-wide counsel and felony division chiefs to draft opposition to 3850 post-conviction relief motions. Furthermore, Mr. Genossar has previously served as a single prosecutor in the most voluminous division in the County of Sarasota’s history, handling upwards of 450 open cases, and still finding the time to draft lengthy motions, opposition to motions, and affidavits, all while taking matters to trial. Undefeated in dispositive motion practice, Mr. Genossar relentlessly fought for the People of Florida, including victims, animals, and the heroic men and women in law enforcement. In addition, he has liaised between other SAOs, the U.S. Attorneys Office, the U.S. Marshals Office, U.S. Probation, the Polish Embassy, and amongst the other various state and local law enforcement agencies, developing strong partnerships in the pursuit of justice. As a trial attorney, Mr. Genossar is familiar with using the rules of evidence in trials and evidentiary hearings, along with picking juries during voir dire.
Before life in Florida, Mr. Genossar served the People of New York as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Alexander M. Tisch, Justice of the Supreme Court, Civil Branch, New York County (presiding president of the Judges Association for New York County). Instrumental in keeping Justice Tisch’s docket flowing, Mr. Genossar as a court attorney handled all discovery conferences for the Part, and drafted the various motion and nonmotion orders before the Court. As a result, Part 18 became one of the most efficient General IAS parts in the City, County, and State of New York, contributing to the Part’s promotion to the Appellate Term. Knowledgeable about New York litigation, Mr. Genossar has a concentration in New York City civil and commercial litigation. Furthermore, Mr. Genossar has practiced for an AM100 big firm in their New York City office, representing Fortune 500 clients. Additionally, Mr. Genossar has participated as an inn member in the New York American Inns of Court and has presented at conferences amongst judges, practitioners, and industry leaders. When he was a junior attorney, he served as the cofounder and cochair of the Young Lawyers Division within the Jewish Lawyers Guild in New York City, conducting networking events and legal soirées with jurists and fellow practitioners.
Although from the Commonwealth of Virginia, he began his legal journey in Buckinghamshire, England where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws with Honors from the University of Buckingham. While at university, he created and captained the Milton Keynes (“Minotaurs”) Lacrosse Club, leading his team as the underdogs of the third division to a promotion, leaving the team seated third in the second division during the club’s second year. At the age of 24, Mr. Genossar passed the New York Bar with a British LL.B. and an American LL.M. While working as a full time attorney in New York, he obtained his J.D. through an expedited program, enabling him to venture into the Sunshine State. By age 30 he was admitted into his third state: Texas. He speaks Mandarin Chinese, and in his free time, he may be found learning other cultures, self teaching the piano, or road biking.
