James Ferrara Secures Victory for Homeowner in Jury Trial

Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Hermann partner James T. Ferrara secured victory for his client against All Florida Structures, Inc. (AFSI), a general contracting company. The four-day jury trial revolved around allegations of faulty and incomplete work performed by AFSI at the client’s Loxahatchee home.

To support his client’s case, Mr. Ferrara shared several instances of poor workmanship and breaches of contract by AFSI. It detailed discrepancies in tile installations, improper cuts into wooden trusses and inadequate repairs to a flat roof, among other issues. Expert reports provided further evidence of code violations not being met.

Following proceedings and presentation of evidence, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiff, awarding him $94,656, which covers the $50,000 initially paid to AFSI and additional damages.
